Once the blood profile is complete,I.V. fluids are then administered to this kitty before she goes under anesthesia. We recommend intravenous fluids while under anesthetic as this reduces the risk factors involved with anestetic and surgery. This also ensures a port for administering pain medications to keep your pet comfortable or in an emergency situation medication can be quickly delivered to the patient. An I.V. catheter is placed in a vein of the front leg and the appropriate fluids are administered with an I.V. pump. The fluids help keep your pet's blood pressure up which helps them recover from the anesthetic much quicker and more predictably.
